Labor Day 2011 Over and Out

The end of a nice, long weekend.  Too bad.

Items of Interest:

Started cleaning out our garage.  What a mess a cute little creature called a pack rat can make.  Googled pack rat deterrent.  Found a couple ideas to try to get the little guys to move to somewhere else.  Peppermint oil?  We'll see.  If anyone has any ideas other than poison, please let me know.  I HATE pack rats!

Our new generator is working great!  In one day I managed to do three loads of laundry (wash and dry) and a load of dishes, plus the refrigerator was on ALL day.  Plus my computer has been on all day.  Plus I had to refill one horse water bucket because it had a dead ground squirrel in it.  Figures because yesterday when I filled water buckets, I filled them to the top because the work week was starting soon and I didn't want to come home and find an empty water bucket.

Man in Idaho (or somewhere north of here) being charged for killing a grizzly bear in his yard to protect his family?  The bear is considered an endangered species, so is protected.  Wasn't his family endangered by the bear and didn't it have the right to be protected?

The month of August showed no growth in jobs.  Now our president is trying to pass a job bill?  I'd say a little too little, a lot too late.

Other blog of interest:  Rural Revolution.
